Studio Del Creador in the public school system.
In 2021 we launched a pilot program and began bringing our free art classes to the local elementary schools of our city Tecate, Mexico. Recognizing that post-pandemic, children were having a hard time participating in extracurricular activities after school, we sought new ways to provide accessible art resources to our community. After brainstorming at the planning table, we decided to bring our classes directly to the local schools. We are currently developing this program to ensure it is robust and comprehensive, with plans to offer it year-round to local schools.
As you can imagine, it is rare for public schools in Mexico to have access to the resources necessary to run an art program: (1) to employ extracurricular art teachers (2) to purchase supplies.
In response, we now provide local schools with the tools to launch and sustain art programs in their schools: (1) Training volunteers to teach art in local schools (2) Training in therapeutic art curriculum (thank you ArtFeeds) and (3) Providing art supplies to sustain their art program.
That's why we are calling together our generous community to make it possible for these kiddos to have access to an education enriched with creativity!!!
